Every major project starts with a Test Panel.

With the Tiebacks in place, the wood retaining wall is waterproofed.

Panels are installed to mount the Rebar.

The Rebar is then installed.

They start to spray the Shotcrete.

Working next to the Nozzleman, an assistant ensures the area is clear of debris just prior to the Shotcrete application.

Even as the Nozzleman sprays, two others are finishing the surface.

September 2003 - This undergroung parking facility called for retaining/support walls as well as separate upright supports within the parking area. The forms for upright supports are shown at the left side of the picture with a few finished supports for the building shown in the center.

September 2003 - Another picture of the underground parking facility at a different angle to clearly show the value of Shotcrete. The support wall for the entrance to the underground parking is one smooth curve. This was accomplished by appling the Shotcrete over a form made of rebar in the desired shape required by the customer. Notice also the top of the that wall is not level. The irregular shape was designed into the wall, and provided easily by Shotcrete.

August 2003 - The versatility of Shotcrete is demonstrated in the picture of one of the worksites. Since walls are "shot" or "applied" in layers, there is no limit to the length or height of the structure. This example shows a retaining wall of finished height of 40 ft. Shotcrete is being applied at the 20 to 30 ft level, with the length of the wall well over 50 ft. long.
