What is Shotcrete ?

Basically, Shotcrete is the process of spraying either cement or concrete into, onto or around anything. The desired mix (cement or con"crete") is sprayed ("shot") from a hose, allowing almost endless possibilities for uses both in the commercial and residential areas of construction.

WHERE is no longer a concern.

Through the use of Shotcrete, cement or concrete placement is no longer restricted to the limited access allowed by the traditional Cement Mixer trucks or hours of wheelbarrow transport. The Shotcrete system uses a single managable hose with one operator in control of the placement of the mix. This feature allows for simple completion of sometimes unique situations which were previously very difficult to complete.
Because Shotcrete is applied in layers or levels , the height, length, or shape of a wall does not have limits anymore. A retaining wall two hundred feet long that curves around an estate with the height changing from three feet to twelve can be accomplished in a fraction of the time traditional methods used. Other cases, like the inside of a bank vault; or an equivalent request, adding a guard shack to an existing underground parking structure, proved to be a much greater challenge before Shotcrete. This feature also opens up the possibilities of simple, effective repair of existing structures, especially those in out of the way places, as in underground parking or bridge supports.

USE is no longer limited.

Traditional use of cement or concrete is confined to horizontal or form fill.
Shotcrete does not have these limitations. Through the use of a simpler technique with far more control, Shotcrete provides a faster, cleaner, and stronger solution to the jobs usually performed by traditional methods of "laying mud".
Residential Applications : With Shotcrete, not only is a driveway possible, but a retaining wall right next to it can be done at the same time, only without the bulky form to fill up for the wall. Commercial Applications : Shotcrete works well for large construction jobs due to its versatility and dispensing speed. Traditional is horizontal, Shotcrete can be vertical or even overhead.
Traditional is inside forms, Shotcrete can be inside or outside of forms.
